The challenge

Delivering a large video library of structured courses to families worldwide takes far more than a video player: subscriptions, progress tracking, discovery that stays calm and safe for children, global video delivery, and releases that never take the service down.

What we built

We designed, built and run FQEFlix end to end: a premium library of series and lesson paths across Quran, Seerah, Stories, Arabic, Kids, Spirituality, Duas and History, with subscriptions, progress tracking and a family-safe, ad-light experience on the web and on phones.

How it works

  • Video ingested, transcoded and delivered worldwide through Amazon S3 and CloudFront
  • A Django API on PostgreSQL, with Redis and Celery for background work
  • A Next.js web app and a React Native (Expo) mobile app on the same API
  • Monthly, annual and lifetime subscriptions, with a founding-member offer
  • Staging and production on AWS ECS Fargate, promoted through GitHub Actions with approval gates; infrastructure as code with Terraform
  • The same platform runs AlamaatTV as a separate branded subscription service, so new streaming services launch without new infrastructure
