Environmental Information Management System

The architecture and specification of a national system that brings environmental data together for decision-makers across government and partner organisations.

The challenge

Environmental data sits with many agencies, in many formats. Policy decisions and reporting to international partners need it combined, trusted and easy to read.

What we built

For a federal ministry, under an internationally funded programme, we designed the end-to-end architecture, database schema and software requirements for a national Environmental Information Management System.

How it works

  • A data model covering several environmental domains and many data providers
  • Import and export tools for partner data
  • Role-based dashboards for different stakeholder groups
  • Access control and data-ownership rules across organisations

Key capabilities

  • Multi-domain environmental data model
  • Partner data import and export
  • Role-based dashboards
  • Cross-organisation access control
