Multi-Network Account Updater
One account-updater service spanning Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, keeping stored cards current before they fail.
The challenge
Subscription and recurring-billing merchants see a steady stream of declines from cards that have been replaced, renewed or closed. Every network offers an updater service, each with different formats, schedules and response codes.
What we built
A unified account updater for a US payments-infrastructure company, integrating Visa Account Updater, Mastercard Automatic Billing Updater and Real-Time Account Updater, Discover Global Automatic Updater and American Express Cardrefresher behind one service.
How it works
- Scheduled and on-demand update requests, timed ahead of billing runs
- Network responses normalised into one result: new number, new expiry, closed account, contact cardholder
- Updates applied to merchant records with a full history of what changed and why
- Reporting on update rates and declines prevented, per merchant and per network
Key capabilities
- Batch and real-time updates
- One normalised response model
- Pre-billing scheduling
- Merchant-level reporting
- Secure file and API integrations
