Legacy Modernization

Move ageing systems onto modern architecture without stopping the business that runs on them.

Overview

Old systems usually still do something important, which is exactly why replacing them is risky. We modernise in stages: stabilise, add APIs around the old core, migrate the data, then replace components one at a time while the business keeps running.

Our approach

Before proposing a rewrite we find out what the current system really does, including the undocumented rules users depend on. Then we choose the cheapest safe path, which is often not a full rewrite.

What we build

  • Code and architecture assessments
  • Desktop-to-web and monolith-to-services migrations
  • .NET Framework to modern .NET upgrades
  • Database migration and clean-up
  • New interfaces on existing systems
  • Moving on-premise systems to the cloud
How a project runs

The same proven process, whatever we build.

Support

Maintain and improve.

Practices kept since 2004: written specifications before building · prototypes for early feedback · regular status reports · tracked changes to code and design · test plans and automated tests · clear acceptance criteria for every deliverable.
